Last Month I had a Skype call with a personal trainer who has been successfully been delivering 35 hours a week one to one sessions for £42 per hour for the last 4 years. He has done what 90% of personal trainers in the fitness industry fail at doing, but what was interesting was he still was not happy. As you know being a personal trainer usually takes up all of your social hours with doing clients, early mornings and late nights followed by the odd Saturday. Although he has a fantastic clientele and income, he was feeling burnt out and was struggling to see a future where he could sustain his business. Over the last Month he has introduced different revenue streams with our guidance such as product selling, group training, team training and online training; with this guidance in just one month he has been able to lower the hours he is working to 27 hours per week, with weekends completely FREE!! and earning more money per week. Therefore I have some advice for any trainers successful or newly qualified personal tariners; Firstly as an exercise write down your perfect working week, what will it look like? secondly it is important that you have different revenue options, not only to earn more for your time but to give potential clients a variety of options that fits their training and financial situation.
